Der international renommierte Multimedia-Künstler David Szauder zeigt anlässlich des Erscheinens seines neues Buches Glitches and Glory (Gestalten Verlag) Fotos, Stills und Videos seines aktuellen Schaffens. Wir sind begeistert, dass Meister der virtuellen Realität und der AI-Kunst, dem Millionen auf Instagram folgen, der auf der Ars Electronica in Linz wie in Dubai oder USA präsent ist, seine Arbeiten in Bad Saarow zeigt! Der kulturaffine Kurort am Scharmützelsee südöstlich von Berlin zog schon vor hundert Jahren Künstler, Fotografen und Filmschaffende an, und ist auch heute beliebter Treffpunkt der kulturellen Avantgarde. Im September fand hier zum 13. Mal das internationale Filmfest FilmOhneGrenzen statt.

My escapism is not an abandonment of the world but a passage into parallel spaces where imagination, memory, and longing manifest as glowing architectures, ephemeral beings, and surreal encounters.

One could also say that I am inviting visitors to a therapeutic retreat in Bad Sarow. The air is excellent, the sky beautiful, and the sounds of nature incomparable. Into this peaceful environment, I bring my entertainingly oppressive, surreal world.

For example:

• A shadow play capable of making our anxieties dance (doppelgänger dance).

• A lowercase faith, externalizing the countless things we accept without proof, as if this had become a ritual of everyday life.

• A soothing series reassuring us that although we constantly feel like outsiders, we are not diminished (sweat dreams).

And then there are the videos: a contemporary imprint of the Babelian confusion in another world, alongside gentle but determined creations that form a 21st-century answer to the medieval bestiary—a taxonomy not of natural beings, but of memory, folklore, and digital fantasy.

There will also be a dance parade, in which strange yet non-threatening creatures embody my own inability to dance, while perhaps encouraging others to join in.

No need to be afraid—of course, the experience will also have synthetic dimensions. But I promise: even those will remain deeply human, and everyone who enters the gallery’s sphere will always be free to leave.
